I've been thinking about getting a pair or two of zebra finches. I mainly want them to gain experience in finches because I want to get a pair of cordon blues. They are pretty expensive around here (about $150.00/pair) So I want the zebras as guinea pigs kinda lol. But I want to put them as well as some of the parakeets in my room but I have to rearrange the stuff in there, which isn't easey because my room is so small and there isn't much room to move things.

Yeah, I'd have to sneek them into the house because my father would be ticked, but after they were around a week he wouldn't care. If I don't do my room plan I'll get them next spring when I move the keets back outside and put them in with them.

Well I did get my zebras and I didn't pay n e thing for them They are normal gray but the guy who bred them gets pieds, whites, grays, and a few other colors out of them. I got them set up to breed, but they only jump on the top of the nest so far. They are young and I don't think they've bred before.

They are building a nest. They have nesting hair and long pine needles inside of it. Plus a few feathers. They did have a piece of millet inside of the nest but I guess they decided it wasn't what they were looking for and threw it back out. I should be getting some babies soon with luck. The guy said if I breed them all winter I'll have over 100 by spring time. There's no way I have enough room for all them finches and I plan on giving breaks inbetween clutches. Also if all goes well I'll be getting society finches shortly. I bought 2 budgies for a friend and I have to ship them out to him. Once he sends me the money I can buy the society finches.
Also I was right. My father was ticked when I got them, because the guy brought them to our store and my mom wasn't there and I wasn't either. The guy told me he was going to call the house when he was going to bring them. But now he doesn't care about them.

Well they finally laid an egg today. I can't wait till she starts sitting and they finally hatch. The egg is smaller then a jelly bean.

She has 3 eggs now, laid the 3rd today. Normal clutch size is 3-8 eggs, I think she's going to lay a few more and then sit.
